B-i-r-d

Ely's an expert bird watcher at school. He loves to look out the winder and point at birds and manages to say "bird" pretty well. Maeboobae said that his excitement has now gotten the other babies interested and converted them into bird watchers as well.

Ely point at an airplane while he was looking out he window and looked over at Maeboobae confused. She told him that it was an airplane and that it flies in the sky like a bird. Ely was still a bit confused but was satisfied with her answer.

Our little soldier is going through his first ear infection. His eardrum ruptured and there was green pus coming out of his left ear. I got a call from Maeboobae and I kept asking her to confirm that she was telling that there was something green coming out of his ear. We were fortunate to have Ely's ear seen by a doctor right away and now he is taking oral antibiotics and ear drops to help it heal. It seems to be doing better today. Ely doesn't seem bothered by it but he is more tired. My coworker said that he remembers going to an ear infection as a little boy. His eardrums ruptured too and said that it was the worst pain ever. -__-

Beautiful Day!

We took advantage of a beautiful day and went to the Bellevue Botanical Garden after work. Ely was a bit tired after daycare but he took an hour nap before I got there. Ely was very possessive over a pen and wouldn't let it go even if it meant that he would fall over trying to hold onto the shopping cart with one hand.
It got dark pretty quick so we weren't at the park too long. Once we got home, I let Ely run around in his diaper before bedtime. As soon as I took off his clothes, Ely took off and charged out of the room (after checking out the tub). I didn't run after him right away so Ely peeked inside to see what I was doing. As soon as he saw me come after him, he shrieked and crawled away. He likes to roam around our bedroom in his diaper telling me about his new findings.

Maeboobae told me that Ely loves to play peek-a-boo with her. When she calls out his name, he will peak out to look for her and hides again. Ely is also becoming possessive over toys. He faught over a toy with another baby and I guess they were screaming at each other. Maeboobae eventually took the toy away and gave each of them the same toy. We've noticed that Ely gets possessive over stuff at home too and screams. Sweet quite Ely is starting to scream. At least he is vocal but we're trying to teach him that he needs to share and screaming is not necessary.

Happy one year!

Our little baby boy is already a one year old. We celebrated Ely's birthday at Maggiano's restaurant in Bellevue. Lots of friends helped us get ready for the party. Ely was sick but he hung in there as he got passed around for pictures.

Sweet Ely
Ely is very sweet and give people hugs. I was sick today laying down and Ely came over and rested his head on my face. He still gives us sloppy kisses and isn't stingy about it when we ask for a kiss.

Alert Ely
He loves to stare at new faces and toys to figure things out. I wonder what goes on his head. He studies how things work before he plays with it. He will take a toy car and spin the wheels.

Suck on noodles
Ely has figured out how to suck up spaghetti and other noodles. He hasn't quite figured put that he needs to chew too and often gags on the noodle. Nonetheless it is funny to see him suck up the noodles.

No walking yet
Ely can stand on his on for a few seconds. I hope he can walk in a few weeks when we go to the San Diego zoo.

Yum Yum Soup
Daddy made Ely seaweed soup for his bday and he finished it all. He also did doljabi and picked money. :)

:)
I look forward to watching Ely grow. Ely has such a sweet caring personality and I wonder what he will be like when he can start to tell us what he is thinking.

Almost one

We are getting ready for Ely's Dol and wondering how our little baby grew up so quickly. Today Ely stood by himself for 10 seconds. He stood there frozen not knowing what to do. Ely was in a hurry to pull himself up but he isn't in any hurry to walk. He does love walking with a walker and is quite fast.

Ely has a cold and hasn't been himself lately. We are hoping that he will get better and enjoy his birthday party.

Can't wait until the party!
